BIO

23 year old Professional golfer from and living in Sheffield. Applying my trade on the PGA Europro tour which is based around the UK and Ireland. I turned professional in late October 2010 and played my first year on the Europro tour in 2011 finishing in 24th place on the order of merit. I also had my first go at European tour school in 2011 at Hardelot golf club in France. I qualified for the second stage and had my lowest round of 63 -8 as a professional. Unfortunately I struggled at second stage but learnt a lot from the experience. 2012 has been a mixed year so far with me missing cuts but also having more top tens already than last year and I find myself 18th on the order of merit. Hopefully I will continue to make the top tens and achieve my yearly goal of a challenge tour card which will help towards the main goal of being a regular on the European tour. Really looking forward to the rest of my season wearing the Parallel golf clothing and hopefully it makes me play as good as I look!

Hello Golfers

Hi everyone Welcome to my blog!! I have been a busy bee the last month playing 3 Europro events of which 2 were in Ireland. I have had mixed results with a tied 30th at Fota Island, tied 6th at Concra Wood followed by a 43rd position at Frilford Heath. I went into Fota Island playing really nice but unfortunatley I holed nothing and made my first birdie of the tournament on my 36th hole to make the cut on the mark!! I then was out at 7:30am in great conditions and managed to start great and was 4 under par through 7 holes but i fell back and managed to just sneak under par. Congratulations had to go to Elliott Saltman who shot a course record 61 (-10) to silence the critics and take the victory!! Concra Wood was a course that I had never played before and i was pleasantly surprised to see an amazing golf course surrounded by a huge loch making the views unreal!! As this was a very hilly golf course I had one of the junior members carrying my bag which I thought was a real advantage!! The course was not only very undulating but was soaking wet with drives plugging in the fairways and with a 7300 yardage it was a tough week. I managed to get within a couple of the lead after the front nine of my final round but made a silly double on the tenth but managed to steady the ship and finish just four back of which I was pleased with. Frilford Heath was in fantastic condition and very dry for the weather we have been having. Unfortunatley I got hit with illness and somehow manged to make the cut shooting four under in my second round. Even though I was in a great position going into the final round I felt awful and played just as bad carding a birdieless six over which dropped me way down. I have just had a week to recharge the batteries and enjoyed watching Ernie win the Open. This week I will be at Rowallan Castle in Scotland for the Eagle Orchid Classic on the Europro and this will be my first tournament wearing the Parallel clothing so hopefully i will get some tv coverage on the final day! If you want to folow my progress you can on www.europrotour.com Happy golfing!! James
